Equality does not demand Identicalness!

It has been argued that their cannot be equality between men and women according to God in
Kingdom economy because that means removing the differences between men and women;
differences which should be celebrated not removed.
I argue that this is not a true statement.
I believe that there is confusion between the term equality and the term identical. It would be a false
statement to say that men and women are identical. Even the simplest human being on the planet can
understand and perceive that there are inherent differences between men and women but this should
not necessarily result in a lack of equality between the sexes in God’s economy.
Why?
Because equality does not demand that we be identical contrary to some teachings by today’s popular
mainstream complementarians teachers. For proof of my concept I urge us to look at a couple of
simple mathematical equations for clarity.
5 + 3 = 8
4 + 4 = 8
5 + 3= 4 + 4

The above equation shows us that both 5 + 3 and 4 + 4 equal the same amount even though the
equations are not identical. 5 + 3 is indeed quite different than 4 + 4. So we say celebrate the
difference! It can be said that these two equations are naturally not identical yet they are equal.
In fact:
0 + 8 = 8
1 + 7 = 8
2 + 6 = 8
3 + 5 = 8
4 + 4 = 8
5 + 3 = 8
6 + 2 = 8
7 + 1 = 8
8 + 0 = 8
Are all simple mathematical equations that prove that equality does not necessarily result in identicalness!
We can celebrate the beauty of the differences of each without removing their equality. Equality
among men and women in Kingdom economy does not demand identical nature between the sexes.
Equality in Kingdom economy does however demand an equal distribution of status, rights and
opportunities; this equality being the result of the redemptive work of Christ that ensures them and
nothing earned or warranted because of our natural state of being.
Christ’s sacrifice secured our status and rights as children of God; we are all seen as sons of God in
the eyes of God. Only sons receive an inheritance remember so either daughters are seen as sons
in the eyes of God or they do not receive the inheritance.  It is then through the resurrection and
transfiguration of Christ that we are all given the Holy Spirit who seals us as well as designates
our calling, giftings and opportunities in Kingdom service in response to the
individual’s obedience both in Heaven and on earth
The outcry for equality within the body of Christ does not remove uniqueness from the male and
female nature of creation or from the individual as fearfully and wonderfully made.
Equality does not demand that we see the sexes as identical or remove the differences that should be
celebrated between us anymore than it demands that we remove the attributes of different people
groups or the unique identity of each individual in Kingdom economy. All are to
be celebrated not used as a means of separation or designation.
Unity will come when equality is understood
and is the standard we seek.
